Unfortunatelly, you should know that no cure is available for permanent hair loss or baldness. Be aware that
many websites try to sell you questionable or scam hair loss treatment products.
Howewer, consider sudden hair loss as a signal of an underlying medical condition that may require medical treatment.
When you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your hair, talk to
your doctor. It is possible that hair loss to be caused by conditions that can be treated or improved, such as:
- Poor nutrition. Inadequate intake of protein or iron, fad or crash diets can cause poor nourishment
that is often associate with hair loss.
- Medication or medical treatment. Certain drugs used to treat heart problems, high blood pressure, gout,
arthritis or depression may cause hair loss in some people. Medical treatment such as chemotherapy or radiation
can also affect the healthy growth of hair. Once treatment ends, the hair typically return to normal.
- Disease. Diabetes and lupus can cause hair loss.
- Hormonal imbalance. This condition is associated with an overproduction of testosterone, that may cause
thinning of hair over the crown of the scalp. Correcting hormonal imbalances may stop hair loss.
- Hair treatments. An excessive or incorrect use of chemicals for dying, tinting, bleaching, straightening
or permanent waves can cause hair to become damaged and break off.
- Scalp infection. Fungal infections, such as ringworm, can affect the skin of your scalp,
leading to hair loss. Generally, once infections are treated, hair grows back.
